Endoscopy is a procedure done to identity disease of food pipe, stomach and Duodenum. It is a out patient procedure done in couple of minutes. It is Indicated in patients with difficulty swalloing, pain in stomach , heart burn , recurrent vomiting , blood in vomitus , iron defeciency anemia and significant wieght loss. Endoscopy is done with empty stomach , usually in the morning. Screeing Endoscopy is indicated in patients with high risk of food pipe and stomach cancers and in relatives of patients who had these cancers.

Screeing is recomended at an early age in relatives of colon or rectal cancers. Colonoscopy procedure takes 15- 20 min , at times requires mild sedation, essentially a out patient procedure. As the stool contains fecal matter, this procedure requires bowel wash with ceratin agents like PEGLAC prior to the procedure.

Foreign Body Removal - This involves removal of things accidentally swalowed like coins, batteries, large meat bolus, impacted chicken bone or fish bones. Piles Banding - This procedure is done for patients with large piles and bleeding , an out patient procedure, very good alternative to surgey.
